I love a beauty recommendation, a bit of a nosey into what everyone else loves and an excuse for a cheeky purchase or two. As if I need an excuse really. I spend a lot of time researching new products and have a handful of people who’s opinions are important. Here are some of my favourite industry experts and their beauty recommendations.
I’ve known Jo for years, she used to be my go to therapist, until I moved away. She owns a luxurious retreat in Dorset, Bindon Abbey Wellness Retreat. Jo has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is an amazing therapist. Now if she could just pick up her business and relocate near me that would be fab.
Jo said: I highly recommend Caudalie’s Gentle Buffing Cream. This wonderful cream gently eliminates dead skin cells and excess sebum whilst stimulating cell renewal. It leaves the complexion radiant with an ultra soft, smooth and clean feel and is suitable even the most sensitive skins. I love that 91% of its ingredients are from natural origin and it does not contain plastic microbeads.
Jen has more beauty products than you can shake a stick at. She’s worked with some of the best brands in the industry and recommends so many brilliant products. She has been a successful blogger for as long as I can remember and you just know a Jen recommendation is always a good one. Jen blogs at A Beauty Junkie in London. In true beauty addict style Jen couldn’t choose one product so she sent me two. I was not going to object.
Jen Said: Once I find a product I love I tend to shout about it like a broken record. There are two that I’ve loved and recommended for years so couldn’t decide which is the number one! One is the SkinCeuticals Ultra Facial Defence SPF50 – it really is a fantastic day to day facial protection option. Lightweight so wears well under makeup but high protection so ideal for holiday or just any day out. SPF is pretty much the number one thing you can do for your skin so pretty vital to get a good one!
The other product I have to recommend time and time again is the IT Cosmetics CC cream. It really is a wonder product. It has a relatively thick texture on first look but a little goes a long way and you really can build to whatever coverage you want. I haven’t found anything that gives the same natural but perfected finish without feeling heavy on the skin.
Georgie is Treatment Manager at the beautiful Ockenden Manor Spa. She is an incredible therapist, she has that therapist touch. If you know you know and let me tell you it’s the difference between a treatment and the best treatment you’ve ever had. She knows the ins and outs of the Spa world like the back of her hand and has a wealth of knowledge making her a great expert for a recommendation.
Georgie said: The product I can’t live without and recommend to absolutely everyone is Reviving Marine Mist from Thalgo. While many of us assume a mist is just an over priced scented water, its actually so much more. This versatile beauty essentially fights dryness, brightens dull complexions and revitalises tired skin. This rapidly absorbed mist definitely does the trick by boosting cell metabolism and strengthening the skins defences. It also smells divine.
Laura is owner of a gorgeous salon, Bellevere. She has a great team of therapists and offers an extensive range of treatments. Laura is not only an amazing therapist but she is the queen of brows and makeup.
Laura said: Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm, an age smart firming eye cream that helps target fine lines around the eye area. This amazing treatment cream has been one of my personal favourites for years! I love the feel and texture. It’s super easy to apply and leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated. One of my staple products.
BRB off to make a load of purchases, sorry credit card. I hope you found a recommendation or two. Be sure to let me know if you pick anything up. If you enjoyed this style of post let me know in the comments.
Go and show the girls a little bit of love their sites are linked in pink. And if you’re in the area I can not recommend them enough if you’re in need of a treatment or two.
