Harry Potter Studio Tour

Harry Potter studio tour, I know it’s been around since longer than I can remember but it’s had a revamp and it really deserves a little feature. If you’re not a Harry Potter fan click off now, this probably won’t be for you. If on the other hand you are keep reading. Apologies for any spoilers that may be in this post. You’ve been warned.

Details

Location, Leavesden. Just round the M25 after Heathrow Airport. Tickets Start from £47 for adults. Standard tickets just cover you for the tour, drinks, food and extras are not included. They do have deluxe ticket options and look out for the Christmas specials, Valentines specials etc. They tend to be pricey but you go at night and have drinks, nibbles and dinner in the great hall. It’s quite special. For more on tickets check out their website here.

Tour

The tour itself has recently been refreshed and expanded which really has made the experience even more fun. There are so many behind the scene secrets, different sets from the film including, dorms, Dumbledoors office, Hagrids house and more. There are costumes and hair and makeup videos showcasing transformations.

If you’re into it you can get involved. Ride a broom stick. Have drinks in a pub that makes you look small and your friend look big. Practise your wand skills and shout up at a broomstick. Not gonna lie the broomstick is a little slow so yeah we were as much use as Neville Longbottom.

You literally go everywhere from the school sets, through to the forbidden forest. Platform 9 and 3/4 and the Hogwarts Express. Privet Drive, the night bus and the bridge to Hogwarts. Not forgetting the Hogwarts Model, It’s insane.

Gringotts Bank

The latest addition and a brilliant one at that. Gringotts Bank, complete with Goblins. The set is amazing, you are there quite literally. It’s been done so well and I love that it’s been split in two. Lets just say dragon plus fire = quite the Harry Potter experience. There are vaults and all sorts to get a full Gringotts experience.

Food and Drink

There is plenty on offer, some what pricey but what can you expect really. Fast food, ice creams, caffe style food. The most important Butter Beer. John’s a fan I am not. Let me know in the comments if you are team butter beer or not. If that’s not enough there is also a Starbucks.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed it, I certainly think the additions are brilliant and things have been jigged around slightly which has enhanced the experience. I definitely recommend if you’re into that kinda thing or are a Harry Potter fan. It’s great to be able to see the set and all the behind the scenes. It’s amazing how they created an entire film series from a load of props and sets.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve been and what you though.

Check out my last post here and I’ll see you in the next one
