The Comedy Club

Comedy is the best medicine right? This year I have set myself a challenge to do something each month that’s a bit more fun than just standard life e.g dinners out, cinema, drinks etc. So January was Paris, you can check it out here and February was comedy month.

I’ve always stayed clear of comedians after getting picked on at a comedy night. I was sat far to close to the front. Got picked on, god I was mortified. The comedian could see it and took the mick some more.

Shows

Lesson learnt there but if you pick the right show, sit a little bit further back you’re in for a fun night of laughs. So off I went to see Miles Jupp and Jack Whitehall. I chuckled to myself through both shows and can’t recommend it enough.

Jack Whitehall

My favourite. It was a much bigger production with a few props. When I say props what I mean is a real life flippin horse, a girl dressed as Elsa from Frozen singing and a couple of burlesque style dancers. Oh and not to mention Jack Whitehall dressed as a troll. For me what made him funny was the way he is animated when he’s speaking. It exaggerates what he is saying and some how makes it funnier. It’s kinda odd that we find a guy standing on stage saying random things, really funny. But some how it just is.

My point to all this rambling is find your self a comedian and get yourself an hour of laughter. It’s like an hour of free feel good medicine. Ok not 100% free but you get what I mean. I’m now on the look out for a Peter Kay gig, he’s got to be the funniest guy on the planet. Go and watch the clip where he’s talking about biscuits and you’ll get it.

Let me know in the comments your recommendations for Comedians or fun things to do.

You’ve got to check out Micky Flanagan Rach, he’s doing the rounds later this year. Perhaps the oerfect opportunity to check out the coffee machines in our suite at The 02 . In the meantime, they tend to run his past shows on the tele everything now and then. I’M GOING OUT OUT!! That will make perfect sense once you’ve seen that show.

    Peter Kay… absolutely hilarious!

This is probably a bit too old skool for you, but one of the best shows I’ve ever seen (all them years ago, when I was once around your age, lol), was Robin Williams, Live at The Met.
