Victoria Beckham For Estée Lauder

Everyone got so excited when Estée Lauder announced their collaboration with Victoria Beckham. If you grew up when I did Spice Girls were a massive part of your childhood and so if you’re anything like me, one a beauty addict and two secretly a Victoria Beckham fan then you quite frankly would have nearly died of excitement at this announcement. If I’m being blunt we can all face up to the fact that Victoria Beckham would rather forget her Spice Girls years and be known just for fashion and beauty.

Come launch day I jumped online carefully selected a couple of items because, what a surprise you stick a name like Victoria Beckham on an Estée Lauder product and well you can imagine the prices. I waited patiently for 5 days and it’s finally arrived.

Thoughts

I debated this post and debated keeping the products for about a week. I hate to be negative and really what was I expecting, a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat?! hmm perhaps not. The thing that got to me the most was the lipstick, it felt so small, the lid was wobbly and then I made the mistake of comparing it to normal Estée lauder lipsticks in the same packaging. I died when I saw they were £14 cheaper and 0.3g bigger. I then got picky and noticed wonky labels on the packaging and felt very little care had gone into them.

Products

Having finally got stuck into the products I can say I love the lipstick colour (Chilean Sunset) it’s got my name all over it, a bold orange/red colour. The pigment is great the texture is just right and the staying power is as you would hope. The eye metals eye shadow in Bitter Clover is again well pigmented, a nice texture to work with and blends well. You can really buff the edges to get a sexy smokey eye. The product buffs into a slightly deeper smokey shade. I’d say it’s more of an evening eyeshadow. The glitter is fairly fine, it does however have a little fall out when applying. Watch out for glitter on your face. The Highlighter is pretty, nothing too over the top, it has a little bit of a glitter running through and looks gorgeous and glowing on.

Verdict

I do love the products I have, but feel there is room for improvement based on the price point. If you have the money and love Victoria Beckham then do it. If you don’t then don’t feel too sad as you’ll be able to find cheaper alternatives. You’ll need to act quick if there is anything you like as its selling out fast.

Let me know if you’ve tried anything and your thoughts.
