It seems as though every man and their dog are doing afternoon teas these days. So you’ve gotta find your ‘thing’ to stand out from the crowd. Along came the themed afternoon tea. This one will not only excite cake fans but if you love Disney then you might just die of excitement.
Sadly ATM you can’t just book, you do have to wait for dates to be released. I can assure you though it’s worth the wait. Everything has been carefully thought out to bring the Beauty and the Beast magic alive. Well in cake form at least.
Sneak Peak
The afternoon tea is packed with cute little touches and all your favourite characters. We were welcomed by a take away biscuit treat shaped liked Bells dress before picking our teas or juice if you’re not a tea fan. It’s great to see as I used to be one of those fussy non tea drinkers before finding green tea and its not particularly fun stuffing your face with cake while you die of thirst.
Food and Drink
You’ll start off with a bite sized venison pie, cheese soufflé and beef ragu because no feast would be complete with out. A true Disney fan will know the exact reason why. Dive into sweet baguette’s with the tastiest chocolate and apricot spreads, a lighter alternative to scones and a cute twist to relate to the film. Standard variety of sandwiches mixed with themed cakes and puddings.
Thoughts
Only niggles, and to be fair they were not an issue for us but may be for some. The table was timed so you can’t spend all day there and we didn’t get a tea or sandwich top up like you would usually get.
Location The Town House at The Kensington Hotel, London.
Leave me you recommendations for afternoon tea in the comments.
