Soho House – Barcelona

If you know me well staying at Soho House has been on the tick list for quite some time. And my god it did not disappoint. I have a lot of love for the Cow Shed brand, which just so happens to originate from the Soho group. Fun fact they used to grow all the plants for the essential oils at Babington House in Somerset. A beautiful country retreat under the Soho group. The products were originally made just to be stocked at all Soho House locations and then it took off. So this led to my fascination with Soho House and their many hotels and I finally got to stay at one.

Soho House Barcelona

Location – Plaça del Duc de Medinaceli, 4, 08002 Barcelona, Spain. Or also know as along the Marina.

The building is beautiful and as with all Soho House locations the interiors are traditional Soho House style with a twist of location. So in this case a twist of Spanish.

I think the thing I loved the most was its luxury and high service but in the most relaxed way you’ve ever come across. Casual staff great you, with this relaxed happy vibe. You’re like ok great I’m not out of place, because lets face it I’m not gonna be getting a membership anytime soon. A bit of honesty here, for me I felt like if you can’t get a membership maybe you’re not really allowed there. But praise the lord thats not the case us normal people are good to try it too.

They kindly up graded the room as one of us was turning 30 *cough* me. A fully stocked room with everything you need from straighteners to drinks and snacks and a whole Cowshed shop in your bathroom.

Food and drink

You’ve got relaxed dining in a few locations, a bar lounge, causal dining and the roof top. We are talking gorgeous views of the beach or the city, depending where you’re sitting. Queue glass of champagne in hand, the sun shining. Or a nice glass of Rioja and delicious sharing plates of the tastiest tapas. Heaven. Im not ashamed to say I did both of them. I also Helped myself to pick n mix in the bar with a cocktail. Yes I am 30 and I still love a bit of pick n mix. Come on who doesn’t.

For those that want a bit more you’ve got Cecconi’s and Italian restaurant built into the hotel but also accessible to the public. You can check them out here.

There is basically food for any time of day to suit what ever you fancy.

Amenities

One of the reason for booking is obviously the Cowshed Spa, haven’t mentioned that a few times already. It’s not a huge spa with hundreds of pools and steam rooms and things but the pool area is relaxing. I had some kind of head to toe ridiculously papering treat. We are talking body brushing and scrub, to get the circulation going and buff off any dead skin. Scrubbed with in an inch of my life comes to mind, I don’t think I’ve ever been so clean in my life. A full body massage, not for the faint hearted. It was so firm and very much a deep tissue massage with lots of manipulation. My god I bloody loved it. I can not tell you how amazing it was.

Roof top pool and sun lounges. Oh it was beautiful and I was so sad to not be able to take a whole host of photos, but I get it. If you’re relaxing round the pool you don’t want someone else shoving a camera in your face.

Cinema and gym, not something we used but pretty cool to have.

I just love it, it may not be for everyone but it certainly ticks all my boxes. I’m certainly keen to work my way round the different houses in different locations.

Have you stayed at a Soho House? What did you think? If you missed the last one you can check it out here.
