Bargain Brushes

Is it possible to make makeup brushes for £3.50 and under per brush? You would think not but Primark have well and truly proved me wrong. I literally couldn’t believe the price and they are actually fairly good looking brushes. Yes I still haven’t gotten over the price, I mean seriously how are they making money. They are so cheap that I thought even if they are awful I can just throw them away because they are that cheap, but if they are good then everyone needs to know it.

The brushes I picked up are:

Angled eyeshadow blending brush – works beautifully on eyeshadow, anything from a simple wash of colour to a smokey look.

Angled face brush – perfect for a soft contour or bronzing, I found it a little flat for blush.

Doubled ended brow brush – the angled end works well for winged liner, although a little stiff. The other end is pretty self explanatory and works well as you’d expect.

Stippling brush – buffs foundation into the skin well, seems to work best on lighter coverage foundations, I found it hard work with Estee Lauder Double Wear. Works well with blusher.

Double ended eyeshadow concealer brush – Good for packing on eyeshadow if you want to create strong colour, or for lining under the eye with eyeshadow. I love it with the La Mer radiant concealer. This brush blends that stuff in beautifully under the eyes for some serious I’ve had loads of sleep look.

Blender sponge brush – just no, sorry Primark. It’s too firm and doesn’t really work well with foundation or concealer. Side note I tried the beauty blenders and they were the same. Sad face.

Having given them a good test drive I have to say I am quite pleased with them. The black and rose gold make them pretty good looking. My favourite is the angled eye blending brush, it’s great for all over and blending at the outer corner and crease. It blends your eyeshadow beautifully, exactly what every girl wants.

Now I’m not saying drop everything and race down to Primark to pick up a set but if you have a smaller budget I definitely think they are a strong contender to be considered for your collection.
